The Regulation on Administrative Fines to Apply in Cases of Agreements, Concerted Practices and Decisions Limiting Competition, and Abuse of Dominant Position (“Regulation on Fines” or “New Regulation”), was published in the Official Gazette No. 32765 on December 27, 2024, and concurrently entered into force. Accordingly, The Regulation on Fines to Apply in Cases of Agreements, Concerted Practices and Decisions Limiting Competition, and Abuse of Dominant Position (“Former Regulation”), which had been in force since February 15, 2009 has been repealed.

The Turkish Competition Authority’s Guidelines on Competition Infringements in Labor Markets Has Published The long-awaited Guidelines on Competition Infringements in Labor Markets ("Guidelines") of the Competition Authority ("Authority") were published on the Authority's website on December 3, 2024.

With the Law on the Amendment of the Law on the Protection of Consumers and Certain Laws published in the 30.10.2024 dated and 32707 numbered Official Gazette, amendments were made to Law No. 6502 on the Consumer Protection Law (“CPL”), Law No. 6563 on the Electronic Commerce Law (“ECL”), and Tax Procedure Law No. 213. The important amendments to the CPL and the ECL are summarized below.
